"Public libraries are crucial centers of community activity, places where people from diverse backgrounds and with varied interests connect; public libraries are America at its best."

About the Foundation
The South Burlington Library Foundation was established in 2018 to generate private support to enhance the quality of the South Burlington Public Library.
The Foundation began with the mission of raising funds for the new library. Building on the generous bequest from Paul O. Blanchette we ran the successful community ASPIRE Campaign which, in total, raised nearly $1 million.
Together, Foundation resources purchased technology, collections, and furnishings that were not in the City’s construction budget. Since 2021, when the library opened, the Foundation has turned its efforts toward building a sustainable funding source for the library by asking our community for support.
The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization separate and independent of City government. We raise money from individuals, businesses and charitable foundations to supplement, not supplant public funding for the library.
The Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors who carefully steward the generosity of our donors and works closely with the Library Director to provide funds for critical library resources and programming each year.
