Support the South Burlington Public Library!
South Burlington residents long dreamed of a new library. When the city’s Tax Increment Finance district was formed in 2016, the possibility of creating a large, modern library became a reality. A bond issue, overwhelmingly approved by 73 percent of the voters in November 2018, funded the construction of the 180 Market Street building which opened officially July 23, 2021.
The city's new, energy-efficient, ADA compliant building in City Center which includes our public library, city hall services, and a senior center opened July 2021 to the great delight of the community. The library has been open now for three years and is alive with people and programs. The Foundation is here to raise funds that will allow our library to continue to thrive and be an open, welcoming and must visit place for all.
Our library is extraordinary - join us in ongoing support!

"Public libraries are crucial centers of community activity, places where people from diverse backgrounds and with varied interests connect; public libraries are America at its best."
